Shalina Vichitra

Shalina Vichitra, born in 1973 in Kolkata, India, completed her BFA and MFA from the College of Art, New Delhi. Her abstract practice draws on cartography, geography, and landscape to explore ideas of belonging, memory, movement, and the relationship between land and human habitation through layered, map-like surfaces and spatial grids. A key work in her career is the onsite project A Thousand White Flags (2019), supported by India Art Fair and now in the permanent collection of the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, along with installations such as Blessed, which reflect her engagement with spirituality and uncertainty. Her work has been widely exhibited at platforms including India Art Fair, Art Dubai, Art Mumbai, and Delhi Contemporary Art Week, as well as at KNMA and leading galleries in India and abroad. She currently lives and works in Gurugram, India.
