B. Ajay Sharma
B. Ajay Sharma is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, performance, photography, video, sound, and site-specific installation. He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Faculty of Visual Arts, BHU and later earned his Master of Fine Arts from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Although formally trained as a painter, Ajay's practice has expanded into performance and conceptual art, often exploring the relationships between time, body, memory, and socio-political landscapes.
His works investigate the historicity of place and the shifting dynamics between presence and absence, drawing from personal experiences as well as Indian and Buddhist philosophical thought. He has presented his work widely across international platforms, including exhibitions and performance festivals in Belgium, the United States, South Korea, France, Spain, Hungary, and Germany. His notable projects include Residue of Performative Acts, Paradox, and the durational performance Sleep.
He is currently based in South Korea and continues to explore his artistic practices.
