The Camellias in Gurugram becomes new home for modern and contemporary South Asian art

Antarang Art Gallery has opened at The Camellias in Gurugram with its inaugural exhibition, Resonance: The Foundation Edition. The show positions art as a shared conversation through cross-generational works and interactive engagement.

Gurugram is getting a new space for modern and contemporary South Asian art, with Antarang Art Gallery opening its doors at The Camellias. Founded by Sania G Vohra, the gallery aims to bring art, conversations and a growing community of collectors together under one roof. The inaugural edition of Resonance: The Foundation Edition, the gallery’s flagship annual exhibition, was held on August 9.

The exhibition opens to the public on August 13 and runs until September 30. It brings together works by some of the most recognised names in Modern and Contemporary South Asian art, including FN Souza, MF Husain, SH Raza, KH Ara, Krishen Khanna, Anupam Sud, Zarina Hashmi, Manu Parekh, Paramjit Singh, Paresh Maity, Shobha Broota, Sunil Das, T Vaikuntam, Akkitham Narayanan, Bhuri Bai and Seema Kohli. Rather than presenting artworks through a straightforward chronological timeline, Resonance brings together artists from different generations to explore the connections between their practices.

The works are divided into four broad sections: nature, urbanity, portrayal and sacred, allowing viewers to trace recurring ideas and visual conversations across generations of South Asian art.
