Current event
24 April 2026
Tracing the timeline from early influences to modern masters
An interactive conversation led by Sania G. Vohra and Nidhi Panta, with the opening question, " What makes art 'Modern'?"
Is it technique, time, or a shift in thinking?
In this session of the Curious Collectors Series, we traced how Indian art moved from tradition to modernity - through its artist, movements, and defining movements.
From Raja Ravi Varam to the Progressive Artists' Group, this is less a alecture and more a converstion about how art, identity, and history come togther.
This session was designed as an interactive conversation where questions were welcome, ideas were explored, and the foundations of modern art were made accessible. The session explored the journey of Indian art from Company School to the modern period and discussed how these avant-garde movements shaped the modern masters of India.
